Materials and manufacturing
OC-System designs its products for each customer. The product family and the design determine which parts are needed and what they cost to manufacture.
I built the calculation for parts and materials after 3D design, including pricing for painting and labour. It covers OC-Net, OC-10 and OC-Lite products.
Pallet packing
I also automated the placement of products on shipping pallets. The calculation had to extend from material quantities to arranging the products for delivery.
Pallet packing and logistics calculations form part of the same quotation process. The quote accounts for freight as well as manufacturing.
Installation pricing in Finland
I wrote the algorithms for pricing installations in Finland as well. The calculation therefore covers manufacturing, logistics and installation.
The work combined an understanding of product construction and manufacturing with translating calculation rules into working automation.
From hours to minutes
Quoting that previously took several hours by hand now produces a draft in minutes. The salesperson checks the calculations, makes any adjustments and approves the quote before it is sent to the customer.
